It was Alyssa's ninth birthday, the last single digit year she would have in her entire lifetime. This was apparently a big deal and why his house will filled with nine and ten year olds running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But whatever made his daughter happy was what Andrew did, and that was why he was standing at the back of the room, eyes focused on the front door that kept opening with each new guest. His daughter, sweet sweet Alyssa, had insisted that he invite Manda to her party.

Andrew hadn't spoken to Manda since the night she'd stormed out of his place, her shoes having been previously thrown out on the lawn in all his anger. He was still pissed at her, no clear reasoning behind it other than being stubborn over the fact that she had just gone off the deep end. Needless to say he wasn't thrilled to see if she was going to be showing up today, neither was Katie but that was an entirely different story. One he didn't want to go into either.

Some business man came into my bakery today and offered to buy it from me. What made him think I wanted to sell it was beyond me because I'm nowhere near interested. Each time he said no he kept throwing things in as if it'd make me want to change my mind but I wouldn't budge. Instead of leaving with a bakery he left with a dozen cookies and all the cupcakes.

Weird day.

You know what? Fuck it. I might be overreacting a little its only because I lo but at least I'm reacting to it instead of trying to play it off as some high school puppy love bullshit.

There was a fire in my store today. Thank god for insurance right? How do you burn a cake so badly it catches on fire? I mean seriously. There were detailed instructions, a timer, and a smoke alarm that goes off before the charcoal cake turns into fire! All but one of my ovens are done, meaning I have to close the shop until the new ones are delivered. At least I get time to clean up the mess and look for a new worker.

Anyone interested?

My back and arms are still killing me. Neosporin only works if you can actually put it on. Go figure.

I also forgot how much upper body strength you need when making enough batter for ten, three-tiered wedding cakes.

I sprained my ankle. Didn't even do it dancing like one would assume. No, I went and sprained my ankle getting out of the shower.

Would anyone in Boston care for a part time job at a bakery?
I'd continue letting my daughter frost the cupcakes but I think she eats more frosting than she puts on the cupcakes.
However the puppydog eyes seem to work at getting people to buy them.

Dessert is probably the most important stage of the meal.
It will be the last thing your guests remember before they pass out all over the table.
